H.E.R.O.'s primary mission is to enhance the health and well-being of communities in need through medical and educational outreach programs, regardless of region, race, religion, or political ideology. Based in the United States, H.E.R.O. is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. All directors and volunteers of H.E.R.O. agree to adhere to the following principles:

H.E.R.O.'s Code of Honor: H.E.R.O. directors and volunteers commit to respecting the professional code of ethics and will maintain neutrality and independence from any partisan influence, including but not limited to influences of political, economic, or religious origins.

H.E.R.O. Promotes Primary Care: H.E.R.O. aims to promote the importance of primary health care services as a key determinant in increasing the accessibility of basic health care services for all.
H.E.R.O. Invests: H.E.R.O. is dedicated to investing in the education of students from nursery through university by supplementing their material and instructional needs.
H.E.R.O. is Committed: H.E.R.O. is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our volunteers come from over four continents and more than thirty different countries. We recognize that the success of our medical humanitarian mission is made possible by the diverse backgrounds of our volunteers, both at home and abroad.
H.E.R.O. is Transparent: H.E.R.O.'s financial independence ensures that all funds donated and raised are used in accordance with donor wishes and solely for the purpose of sustaining our missions and the organization as a whole.
